Zamfara Women Protest Over Husband Scarcity

No fewer than 8,000 women on Thursday matched to the Zamfara Hisbah Commission, seeking the state government’s assistance to enable them to get married.

Led by the Chairperson of the Zamfara Widows Association, Hajiya Suwaiba Isa, and the patron, Alhaji Sa’idu Goshe, the women said they were not living a normal life and needed husbands to become whole.

“Many of us cannot afford two meals in a day because there are no men to support us,” they said.

The patron said the association had over 8,000 women, comprising 5,380 divorcees, 2,200 widows, 1,200 orphans and 80 others, whom he said, were looking for men to marry.

IBORI: British Prosecutor Retracts Claims On Oando Shares

As the asset forfeiture case involving Chief James Ibori, continues in London, the British Crown prosecution has denied suggesting that the former governor of Delta State owns 30 per cent of Oando Oil.

Giving evidence yesterday, while under cross examination from QC Krolic, James Ibori’s counsel, detective constable, Peter Clark, stated: “Your honour, Mr. Krolic should use the correct statement used by the prosecution…The crown has carefully chosen their words; it may well not be correct to say that the crown said Mr. Ibori owns 30 per cent of Oando.”

Nigeria Airline Operators Threaten To Move To Ghana

In an interesting twist of events, airline operators in Nigeria are threatening to move their operations to Ghana over the imposition of new tariffs by the country’s aviation regulatory body the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The airline operators want to locate to Ghana in a bid to stay in business.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has imposed a new fee of $4, 000 on foreign registered and $300, 000 on Nigerian carriers per trip.

Peter Obi In Tears, Buries 4 Family Members Killed In Kano Blast

The remains of the  four members of the  Ezebuala family, who were  victims of the Kano bomb blasts on July 29, were on Thursday buried  at Uga Community.Uga is in the  Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra.The atmosphere was characterised by wailing and grief as the corpses of the victims were brought for final commendation service at the church.The deceased were Nnamdi Ezebuala (48) and his three children: Chinemerem (14), Chiamaka (12) and Nmesomachukwu (10).

Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Pays Students SIWES Allowance

This is to inform Students of tertiary institutions for the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) accredited disciplines that fully participated in the Scheme that the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has paid their approved allowances.

The allowances of the under-listed students (check here for the students: http://www.itf-nigeria.com/siwes.html) were, however, returned by the banks owing to incorrect Account details. The affected students are therefore, requested to re-submit their correct e-payment particulars to their respective schools or to the nearest Industrial Training Fund Area Office.

This is a photo of the Lagos State Government's ten-lane Lagos-Badagry Expressway and railway line. Erm...yeah, people are already trading on the rail tracks. Lol.

The Lagos –Badagry expressway is a Federal Government road which is currently being expanded to 10 lanes to accommodate a BRT lane and light rail through collaborative efforts of the state govt, the  federal govt and international financial agencies.

Julius Berger is handling the 10 lane road segment while China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), is handling the Light Rail section of the road.

Chinese man has new nose grown on his forehead after losing his nose in a car crash

A 22 year old Chinese man named Xiaolian has had a new nose grown on his forehead after loosing his original nose in a car accident. Xiaolian had the treatment to create a replacement for his original nose which was infected and deformed following the accident in 2012. He actually left his damaged nose unattended to after the accident which led to the infection and eventual deformity, leaving the surgeons unable to repair it.

Only son of Tasty Fried Chicken boss Olubunmi Adedayo dies

The only child of Tastee Fried Chicken boss Mrs Olayinka Adebayo, Olubunmi Adedayo has passed away. Bunmi, who until his death was the executive director of TFC, died yesterday September 24th in the US. Heard he fell ill here in Nigeria and was flown to the US for treatment where he died.
