BMW Scandal: Coscharis gave N112m kickback to aviation minister
From Sahara Reporters
Even as the minister of aviation began a new spin today that the BMW armored cars purchased by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for her use were done on "hire-purchase", SaharaReporters has unearthed new details about the $1.6 million spent by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to purchase the armored BMW cars for Nigeria's Aviation Minister Stella Oduah.
A highly reliable source has told SaharaReporters that the shady deal for the car was done entirely between Coscharis Motors Limited, a dealership from which the cars were purchased, one of Ms. Oduah’s private firms based in Abuja, and First Bank of Nigeria.
“The NCAA was not even aware of the deal until the minister told them to sign that they had received two BMW cars,” said our source.
Why Oprah Winfrey is not in good terms with the Obamas
Ever wondered why Oprah campaigned for Barrack Obama in 2008 but not in
2012? Insiders claim Barack and Michelle broke promises to Oprah Winfrey
leading to a bitter rift between them...
From The NY Post
From The NY Post
"Everyone remembers that Oprah went all out for Obama during the 2008 presidential election. What was not reported was that, in return, Oprah was promised unique access to the White House if Obama won. She’d get regular briefings on initiatives and a heads-up on programs to give her material for her fledgling cable network, OWN.
“Oprah intended to make her unique White House access a part of her new network,” a source close to Oprah told me. “There were big plans, and a team was put together to come up with proposals that would have been mutually beneficial. “But none of that ever happened. Oprah sent notes and a rep to talk to Valerie Jarrett, but nothing came of it. It slowly dawned on Oprah that the Obamas had absolutely no intention of keeping their word and bringing her into their confidence.”
iPad Air Unveiled By Apple
Apple trotted out its fifth-generation iPad today in San Francisco at the company's annual unveiling event. This model, which is now called the iPad Air, is "thinner, lighter, and more powerful than ever before," Apple's Phil Schiller said.
In this model, the 9.7-inch tablet with Retina Display weighs just a pound (down from 1.9 in the fourth-generation iPad. It weighs an extremely thin 7.5 millimeters, down from 9.4mm -- that's a 20 percent slimmer build, if you're keeping count. The bezel is also much narrower, too; 43 percent so, in fact.
A new A7 chip inside makes it 8 times faster than before. For reference, this is the same 64-bit chip populating the iPhone 5S, and also comes with its M7 motion co-processor. M7 promises graphics that render at twice the rate as the previous iPad.
Graphics-wise, that means that this iPad Air is 72 times faster than the original iPad in GPU performance. In terms of Wi-Fi, there's MIMO wireless technology onboard, but the Air is using 802.11n standard, not the the more current 'ac' Wi-Fi designation.
Nigeria Needs A Female President - Oshiomhole, Fashola
Governors Adams Oshomhole and Babatunde Fashola of Edo and Lagos States respectively say it is time for Nigeria to have a female president as male presidency has clearly failed the nation.
The duo spoke at the opening ceremony of the 2013 National Women Conference organized by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO, held at the Eko Hotels and Suits, Victoria Island, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Tuesday.
Speaking at the conference, with the theme: See Beyond Today: Enhance the Quality of Life, Oshiomhole, who declared the conference open, said the nation had decided to hold a national conference to deliberate on ethnicity and the geographical set up of the country, but wondered why the issue of female presidency was not brought into the front burner.
The Edo state governor stressed that it was time Nigeria deliberate to have a female president at the helms of affairs in the midst of absolute failure by the male counterpart who had been ruling the nation since 1960.
At Home With Pa Kasumu In Mushin Apartment
One of Nigeria’s most popular actors Pa Kasumu lives in a Lagos slum. We
were shocked to discover that an actor of Pa Kasumu’s calibre resides
in a multi-tenanted rooming apartment building, commonly referred to as
‘face-me-I-face-you.

No 9 Alayaki street in the densely-populated Mushin area of Lagos where Pa Kasumu lives is no different from your typical Lagos slum. It’s surprising to discover that an actor of Pa Kasumu’s calibre resides in a multi-tenanted rooming apartment building, commonly referred to as ‘face-me-I-face-you’.
‘Can you imagine I pay N150,000 every year for this apartment’, Pa Kasumu told our correspondent, referring to his one bedroom and parlour apartment. The actor’s room is in the upper part of the building where he shares a toilet and bathroom with many other occupants also living on the top floor. The building is not only dilapidated but also gross with filth and debris in and around the compound. Typical of this kind of living environment, households have to share facilities like the toilet, bathrooms and kitchen.

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz Insults Nigeria In A bid To Mock Obama
Republican Sen. Ted Cruz compared the glitches plaguing the website for
President Barack Obama’s signature health care law to the methodologies
of “Nigerian email scammers.”
The Tea Party favorite received a rousing ovation during a rally of more than 1,000 supporters Monday in Houston while speaking out about the Affordable Care Act, known also as Obamacare.
“You may have noticed that all the Nigerian email scammers have become a lot less active lately,” Cruz said, according to the Houston Chronicle. “They all have been hired to run the Obamacare website.”
Cruz told supporters that he’s working for them and not for D.C. “party bosses.”

Stella Oduah Used An Expletive During An Interview?
My friend was discombobulated. During an interview with Nigeria's
embattled aviation minister, Ms. Stella Oduah, a journalist asked if she
was concerned that critics were raising issues about the remodelling of
airports she was doing.
Oduah flared up: "Who the Bleep are they? Who the Bleep!" By the time Joe Obi, the minister's aide began pleading with journalists not use the word "Bleep" in their reports, the damage had been done. When Oduah later said that an accident is "an act of God", my friend was not surprised. He had known the woman for long.
Now, she says: "You know they hate me because I'm an Igbo woman!" So we dare say: "What the Bleep has tribe got to do with theft, corruption and mismanagement? What the Bleep has being an Igbo woman got to do with inflated cars that are nowhere to be found?
