Jonathan Approves Pensions For Colonial Officers

The Federal Government has approved about £146,000 (N36m) for the payment of pensions of five former heads of service that served in the country during the colonial era.

They are all alive and living in the United Kingdom.

Although government did not give their names, it said the youngest of them is 81 years old while the oldest is 106.
The money is allocated for payment over the next 25 years within which they are expected to still be alive.

Chidi Mokeme Returns As Host Of Gulder Ultimate Search 10

Nollywood actor and TV host, Chidi Mokeme, has been announced again as the host of this year’s edition of Gulder Ultimate Search reality TV show which flagged off yesterday in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State.

Mokeme who anchored the reality TV show, in its first and second seasons made a stunning comeback as the anchor man last year after taking over from erstwhile presenter, Bob Manuel Udokwu.

He was announced as the host of the reality TV show, at the selection party of the Gulder Ultimate Search 10 finalists which held inside the New Expo Hall of Eko Hotel and Suites, weekend, in Lagos.

Also at the event, the last 12 finalists that will scavenge the Usaka Forest of Akwa-Ibom State were unveiled.

LAGBUS Crushes Soldier To Death In Lagos Yesterday

Tragedy struck on Monday on the Funsho Williams Avenue bypass, Surulere, Lagos State, after a yet-to-be identified soldier was crushed to death by a LAGBUS, one of the buses in the state mass transit scheme.

Commuters plying the bridge could not help but watch in horror as the mangled body of the soldier was cut into two by the bus.

Eyewitnesses said the  victim, who was riding a motorcycle, was also carrying a woman on the back seat. The passenger was reportedly flung away by the impact of the collision.

Body Of 2-yr-old Exhumed In Church Premises

Operatives at the Homicide Section of the state Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba, Lagos, have begun investigation into the discovery of the decomposing body of a two-year-old child in a church premises in Egbeda area of Lagos.

The pastor (names withheld) has been arrested over the alleged murder of the child.

Although details of investigation were still sketchy at press time, it was gathered that the pastor was allegedly caught burying the dead child in a shallow grave within the church premises.

Political appointees in Oyo state woke up to a rude shock on Monday as the state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, terminated their appointments during an executive council meeting held with them in his office in the morning.

Sources told PREMIUM TIMES that none of the governor’s aides had any inkling of the fate that awaited them until their boss made the announcement.

Last week Jet Magazine released a quote from Chris Brown's interview were Chris questioned why Jay Z gets a pass for stabbing someone and selling drugs but he doesn't get any for beating Rihanna.

Talk show host Wendy Williams has slammed Chris for trying to shift the blame for his troubles. On the Hot Topics segment of her show, Wendy went in telling Chris,
"You were less than smart in trying to blame Jay Z. You need to blame yourself young man. You are a woman-beater, you’re disrespectful, you threw a chair out of the window at Good Morning America. You look like a junkie. Now that’s what I’m going to say. You got those nasty tattoos. You’re way too skinny. You don’t seem to have respect for much at all. You beat the stew out of Rihanna.”
