NDLEA Releases Statement On Lagos Island Raid, 5,862kg Of Drugs Seized
A major drug kingpin operating the notorious Patey Lagos Island drug haven, in Lagos state, Mrs. Sherifat Kehinde Lawal has been arrested along with six other suspects by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, who also recovered 5,862 kilograms of assorted illicit drugs including Loud and Codeine in a raid on Saturday 26th February 2022.
Following credible intelligence and follow up surveillance on illicit drug dealing in Osho, Gambari, and Beecroft Streets, Patey Area of Lagos Island, anti-narcotic officers stormed the Gambari street base of the drug kingpin where they arrested her and six of her accomplices at 9:30am Saturday 26th Feb. Other members of the cartel operating in the axis however mobilised hoodlums who attacked the operatives with stones, bottles and guns in a bid to prevent the officers from arresting other kingpins marked for arrest as well as taking the suspects already nabbed and drug exhibits away.

Abba Kyari: Court Extends Detention Order On Detained DCP By 14 Days
A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday extended the detention of a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, by 14 days.
The court granted permission to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to hold the embattled Kyari for the period to enable the agency to complete its investigation into the hard drug trafficking allegations against him.

An early morning fire on Wednesday razed parts of a building at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
However, it is not clear if the fire incident affected the main building of the Federal Ministry of Finance.
At the time of filing this report, the fire was still raging with no men of the federal fire service on ground.

BREAKING: Nigerian Law School, Lagos On Fire Amidst Stampede, Injuries
A fire outbreak on Wednesday(sic) night, engulfed the Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School, located on Ozumba Mbadiwe street, Victoria Island.
A student (eye witness), who confirmed the incident said the fire, suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault, started at around 10 pm from the first floor of the 5-storey building hostel housing the about 1500 law graduates on the Lagos campus.
