As China's biggest political trial in 30 years comes to a close, Xilai (pictured right with wife Gu Kailai) denounced his wife and his former police chief Wang Lijun (left) in court in Jinan, Shandong province. He denied charges of embezzlement and bribery in which he is said to have netted £2.7 million of public money and interfering with the murder investigation of British businessman Neil Heywood.
